PRE-K Half-Day Camps (Ages 4-6)

Under the Sea!

Explore the depths of the ocean in our PreK Under the Sea  Art camp! Create paper mache sea creatures and much more as you draw, paint, and sculpt from your imagination! We will work together to paint a paper wall mural, build Calder inspired fish mobiles, paint Rainbow Fish inspired watercolor paintings, and also work with clay to make pinch pot octopus sculptures – so much Summer Oceanic fun!

     

Art Around the World

Travel the world with us as we learn about art and geography! Visit Africa to create an African animal ceramic mask, travel to Japan and paint cherry blossoms, learn about the art form of colorful weaving when exploring the book titled “The Rainbow Weaver” and create abstract paper mosaics inspired by Antonio Gaudi! Lastly, our young artists with explore the American art style of Pop Art when they create pop art ice cream cones with colorful oil pastels!

     

PRE-K Imagination Station Workshops (Ages 4-6)

-Art Imagination Centers is all about exploration of art media, literacy and movement! We will explore a book each workshop day and carry the storybook’s theme throughout our centers, which will include easel painting, sensory play, music and movement, and much more!

     

Art Imagination Station: Eric Carle Little Stars

Join us for an Eric Carle inspired artist workshop and explore the stars!  The sky is the limit when our artists travel from art station to art station with friends exploring sensory materials to create imaginative constellation designs, painted abstract stars and and Van Gogh Starry Nights! We will read Eric Carle’s Draw Me A Star and listen to music as we dance like shooting stars in the nighttime sky!

     

Art Imagination Station: Go Wild with Art!

Join us for an artist workshop that will roar with Art fun! Artists will explore pattern of spots and stripes as they create abstract colorful lions and giraffes with cut paper shapes. We will learn about the colorful art of Henri Matisse at our collage station and paint a jungle scene at our painting station too! Artists will travel from each art station using their imagination to create wildly colorful pieces. We will read Giraffes Can’t Dance and learn to move like a dancing giraffe as we listen to music of the jungle!

Ocean and Land Black Light Adventures

June 24 – June 28

Enjoy the depths of the ocean and the great landscape when we create a black light art adventure full of oceanic and landscape inspired paintings, sculptures and mixed media materials. Paper mache’ and ceramic sea creatures are a must and will be constructed  for our Grand Final Art Exhibit display shown with glow in the  dark effects of black lighting! Explore the Starry night art of Vincent Van Gogh and the landscape art of Hundertwasser when creating painted landscapes that wil glow in dark! We will work collaboratively to create a sure to be spectacular installation for our Grand Finale Art exhibit on the closing day Friday!

     

Dream World

In this full day camp our artists will have a fun packed week creating drawings, paintings and sculptures as they explore a variety of media such as clay, acrylic and watercolor paints, graphite, chalk pastels and oil pastels, recyclable materials and much more! Each day our artists will create with wonder and leave wondering what new amazing project will be next in their week of dreamworld imaginative art! We will be exploring the art of cartography (map making) with abstract imaginative flair as we use symbolism of shapes and colors in our artistic dreamlands to express imaginative locations! The subject matter will reflect skill and techniques along with personal choices and imagination! There is so much to create when we learn about various artists and art styles for inspiration!

Our artists will create a mix of landscapes, portraits, abstract designs and ceramics! Ceramics and Sculpture: Animal Creations

Learn about how different animals from around the world are represented through various forms of art in our full day Animal Creations Ceramic and Sculpture camp! Artists will sketch plans for their  paper mâché animal masks, cardboard jungle sculptures, aboriginal dot turtle relief sculpture  paintings, ceramic turtle pots, ceramic giraffe sculptures, birdhouses and much more! Artists will also learn the basics of wheel throwing — Please be sure to wear sneakers and hair ties to prepare for your wheel throwing lesson!

Glaze A Ceramic Piece: Disney (Ages 7-12)

Glaze A Piece Disney will be packed with fun as we glaze a Disney inspired pre made ceramic piece each day! We will begin with glazing a Disney castle and end with a ceramic star box inspired by the movie, “Wish!”  We will glaze an elephant mug inspired by “Dumbo”, a ceramic turtle inspired by Crush in “Nemo” and “Monster’s Inc.” silly quirky figurines too! 

     

Pop Art! (Ages 7-12)

In this half day art camp, our artists will create unique art works using bold Color And shapes! We will create sweet pattern fruit paintings inspired by the art style of Pop Art, three-dimensional mixed media collages inspired by the art of Frank Stella, bright flower paintings inspired by Takashi Murakami, dot paintings inspired by YAYOI KUSAMA art, and paper mache’ ice cream cones and ceramic fruit magnets. So much to create with such fun and bright subject matter!!

     

Paint a Wish: Watercolors and More! (Ages 7-12)

Paint A Wish with us! We will explore  the methods and techniques of watercolor paints, acrylic paints and oil pastel color blending while enjoying the beauty of Disney’s Wish landscapes and characters. We will also include our own wishes in our final surprise painting!

     

Fashion: Under the Sea (Ages 8-13)

Join our fashion design camp and design your own fashion line based on your very own Under the Sea theme! Be inspired by the Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” and explore the aquatic beauty of patterns found in sea creatures and the tranquil serene colors of the ocean! Patterns, textures and colors  will be the designers’ inspiration! We will create a color fabric theme board, design and draw a collection of clothing with a variety of art media such as graphite, watercolors and mixed media! Experience a fashion show at the end of our classes wearing your own wearable thematic art fashion pieces created from a variety recycled materials and much more!

     

It’s Your Choice: Paint A Canvas! (Ages 7-12)

Create thematic art with us! Learn to draw different thematic drawings with wirth pencil and marker on paper as sketches and then paint canvases with acrylic paints! Color mixing techniques will be explored with acrylics as we explore your chosen thematic subject matter! Our artists will sketch their paint canvas choices as part of the artis process and then complete an 11in x 14in canvas painting based on their personalized choices from our choice board found at on our website page (https://bluedoorartstudio.com/drop-in-classes/) and as seen in this selection of images as well. Students will create a total of five painted canvases during their camp week! 

     

Digital Media (Ages 8-13)

Calling all aspiring cartoonists and animators! In this half day camp, we will learn how to create unique characters and landscapes and bring them to life through digital comics and animation! Students will learn about the fundamentals of digital painting, animation, and photo editing through fun and engaging projects. Finally, grab your popcorn and join us for a special viewing of everyone’s digital creations throughout the week in an art exhibit held on Friday at 11:45am! 

     

Claymation Stop Motion (Ages 8-13)

Bring your art to life and set it in motion with clay sculptures when you design and create your own characters and sets for stop motion animated movies! Campers will work together as well as individually to create collaborative works of animated art. Create unique characters for your film with clay and wire. We will be inspired by claymation movies like The Adventures of Wallace and Gromit and Chicken Run! Art campers will also work with sketching and drawing styles to inspire their 3-D sculptural forms!

Finally, grab some popcorn and your favorite candy for Blue Door Studio’s Short Film Festival at the end of the week!!

See what lives beneath the ocean and above land during our half-day Sea and Land Creature ceramic camp! Come vibe with us under the sea as we create ceramic pinch as sea urchins, ceramic starfish designs and glaze a ceramic plate with a seahorse oceanic theme! Artists will also design and build a ceramic animal plant holder and animal ceramic mug! Please be sure to wear sneakers and hair ties too to prepare for your wheel throwing lesson!

     

Ceramics: Go Disney! (Ages 8-13)

Disney will be the inspiration for this ceramic half-day week packed with three dimensional art making! We will create ceramic Pete’s Dragon sculptures, glaze a Wish star plate, build a Disney character pinch pot plant holder and create a ceramic Chip cup!  Please be sure to wear sneakers and hair ties too to prepare for your wheel throwing!
